At Stand 2 within Vinitaly event, a unique tasting organized by Cronache di Gusto and dedicated to the 2016 vintage to celebrate the anniversary of the Denomination. The appointment is on April 16th at 4pm. Here's how to partecipate
The Doc Etna has turned 50 years old and lands at Vinitaly in grand style. For the first time a territory of Sicilian wine shows up in a single contest at the Verona fair.
This presence is also a very strong symbolic message: the territory stronger than brands. This has never happened before. Nobody would have neither imagined the Rossinian growth that this terroir had in a few years since 2000. Today it is one among the reference areas of all Italian wine with a dizzying increase in cellars and wines, in the value of land and grapes, although there are still growth margins for raw material. As anticipated before, this year – and it is an absolute first – Etna shows up at Vinitaly in a unique context, grouping over 40 among the most representative wineries. Also for this reason, Cronache di Gusto organizes a great tasting entitled: “Etna Doc 50 years later: the Great White Wines”, during which a dozen labels of the 2016 vintage will be presented, including wines produced in the various slopes of the volcano. “A way to celebrate the Doc production of the volcano and to talk about its perspectives”, says Giuseppe Mannino, the president of the Protection Consortium. The appointment is at 4pm on Monday 16 April at the Palcoscenico Sicilia, the institutional space for events and presentations set up by the Sicilian Department for Agriculture in Stand 2 of Vinitaly, the one that, precisely, hosts Sicily also this year. Federico Latteri from Cronache di Gusto will lead the event. Admission is free until seats are available.
